Dallas, TX – Contemporary Research Corporation announces that Oregon State University has upgraded over a hundred AV classrooms to the VSCC for closed captioning text display.
Rick Brand, Director of Media Services for Oregon State University comments, “For some time, OSU has provided closed captioning in our AV-driven classrooms to meet the special needs of our students. However, our existing closed captioning units responded slowly to our control systems, making operation difficult to our users. We loved the VSCC at first sight, because it’s the first decoder explicitly designed for remote control applications. The closed caption text turns on and off instantly, and integration with our Crestron control systems was a snap.”
In addition to inserting closed caption text, the VSCC offers a digital 2D adaptive processed S-Video output, I/O connections for remote control, video presence sensing, and local switches for closed captioning modes and operation. Rack-mount kits are available as well.
